From the bride: Our wedding was seven years in the making, and worth the wait! Nathan and I met in college where we both sang in choir. It was always meant to be. In October 2015 we took a fall break trip to Chicago where he popped the question and despite it being six years into our relationship, I was surprised! It was over a romantic dinner and made the rest of our trip so special. We shared the news with the closest friends and family only and kept our secret until we got back home, which was fun.
I loved my experience at Altar and ended up choosing the third dress I tried on! Not only was the service wonderful, it was a truly special day with my mom, dad, brother, and best friend of 20 years there.
We got married in my hometown and the church I grew up in. I think it’s a beautiful church. Since we chose to get married in December, it was already decorated for Christmas in beautiful and classic white and green, It was perfect! I had two longtime and dear friends stand next to me and Nathan had his two brothers. I loved having a small wedding party, it felt intimate and personal. The wedding ceremony was special to us, with some favorite music played, my brother doing two readings, and a prayer with just us and our parents immediately after our vows. To me it was, and always will be, a perfect day. I think I’m the luckiest bride to be able to say that!
