From the Bride:

How we met:

Tommy and I met while playing cornhole at a mutual friend’s BBQ right after I moved
back from New York City. We both grew up in Kansas City, but never crossed paths
until that day. Fast forward six months, this same mutual friend called Tommy from
my phone and saved his number as ‘My Future Husband’. Our first date was a few days
later and the rest is history!

 The Proposal:

Tommy proposed on our one year anniversary. We went for a drink at the Jacobson
where we had our first date and I thought we were going to meet my family for dinner
at Webster House. We arrived at the restaurant and Tommy drove into the parking
garage across the street and straight up to the top level. Confused, I asked what we
were doing and he said he wanted to see the view of the city. After we parked and
walked over to the ledge, he got down on one knee and proposed in front of the KC
skyline. The two of us ate dinner at Webster House and then Tommy had planned a
surprise party with all of our friends and family to celebrate that night at Nick and

Jake’s.

The Dress:

Sara helped me find the perfect dress and just the right combination of everything I
wanted. I tried on a lot of different styles before I found the perfect balance of what I
thought was classy, sweet and timeless. Altar had the idea to add the tulle skirt over top
of the dress and then take it off for the second part of the reception (to dance!), which I
absolutely loved. Sara handmade my sash and bow – my favorite part of my dress. She
also made our flower girl dresses, and maybe most importantly, she created my veil
out of my mom’s wedding dress lace. The veil is so beautifully done and will be in our
family for many generations to come. My sister is getting married next May and will
wear it, too. These special details brought so much to the day!

The Wedding Day:

We had a one year engagement and we knew all along we wanted to have our
ceremony at our parish, St. Ann Catholic Church, and our reception at Indian Hills
Country Club, where both of our families have spent a lot of time over the years.
Madison Sanders Events helped bring our vision to life – an elegant, classic day with
bright, big spring blooms and beautiful simplicity. We wanted the flowers to steal the
show since Indian Hills is already so lovely. We are so grateful to all of our amazing
vendors for such a perfect day! It was so incredibly special.

Honeymoon:

We honeymooned in Turks and Caicos and we absolutely loved how relaxing and
beautiful the beach was. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to unwind after the
wedding festivities!
