Matthew and Kathleen met while working at the same company in downtown KCMO. They dated for about a year: she knew he was the right guy and he knew she was the right girl. They got married in the parish Kathleen attended from 2nd grade until high school. The wedding day was rainy, but perfect complete with hail, sun, a rainbow, and wonderful family and friends. The most special guests of all were Kathleen’s grandparents, 91 and 98 attending virtually via Facetime. The mass was celebrated by Matt’s cousin Father Gale Hammerschmidt.
Kathleen was one of those amazing brides we felt so lucky to work with! She came in for her appointment after having tried some gowns that she ordered online. She was searching for just a little guidance and something that felt bridal, but still unique. Little did she know she was going to get a lot of guidance, find a gown that was a little different than even she expected, and to get to work with local Kansas City designer Candida Allison! See photo below of Kathleen’s fitting with Candida. We love that Kathleen and Matthew didn’t want a lot of fuss to their wedding day which made it feel intimate and focused on the matter at hand: their marriage. A huge thank you to Kathleen for trusting us with her gown selection. We truly feel like we made a friend! Cheers!
