We are tickled to share these images from our sweet bride Sarah’s Hawaiian wedding day. We love what she did with our new Augusta Jones Piper gown by taking it to a strapless! The flowing organza skirt perfectly complimented the island setting and the lace is so classically bridal. A huge thanks to Sarah for sharing her big day with us- we couldn’t be more excited for you and Tyler!

From the bride:  My husband and I feel so blessed that we were able to fly back to our home, the Big Island, to get married.  We sort of had a “destination wedding,” but really, we were just going back to the place where we had both grown up and met.  Since moving to Kansas City together a year ago, we had not been able to go back just because we are both so busy. To say the least, planning a wedding from over 2,000 miles away was not easy.  I am so thankful for our parents who spent the past year helping us plan every perfect detail.  My mom told me that she wanted me to have my dream wedding – and that is exactly what I had.  It almost felt like a party for Tyler and I, since my family kept a few things a secret to surprise us!  However, I kept my wedding dress a secret from everyone except for my sister and one of my bridesmaids, so that was definitely fun and I’m glad I did!

The entire time we were in Hawaii felt like an amazing dream.  Each day was filled with some type of wedding event!  Before the wedding, Tyler and I were both able to spend so much time with our family and friends who we had not seen for a long time.  Aside from our wedding day itself, some of my favorite parts of being home were watching movies at home with my mom while we made wedding favors and being given the most beautiful bridal shower by my sister.

Tyler and I both agree that the best part about our wedding day was the ceremony.  I walked down the aisle to “Slow and Steady” by Of Monsters and Men.  Tyler cried, my dad was giving away his last daughter and baby, and my almost 2 year-old niece basically stole the show.  She was so adorable. The ceremony was so intimate and beautiful, and really when I think about, it was just the way I wanted our marriage to begin.  At our wedding reception, we danced the night away until the hotel had to shut us down.   This was partially because we didn’t want the night to end, and partially because I wanted to wear my dress as long as possible.  When people ask me about our wedding, I’m at a loss for words. It’s one of those things where you really had to be there.  It was absolutely perfect.
