Congratulations on your engagement- we are so happy for you and your fiance! You’ve got the man and you you’ve got the ring- now where to get married!? We’ve been helping brides for over 6 years and our list of favorite venues in Kansas City is constantly growing. There are certain obvious factors to consider when selecting what venues to see. First of all- what’s your guest count? Some venues hold 175 people and some hold over 300. This is clearly an important detail to discuss before venue shopping. Secondly- geographic location. Are you getting married in a church and want to find a reception venue nearby? Where are your guests staying and are you hoping to minimize the amount of driving they will need to do. Beyond these two major details, focus on what you want your wedding venue to say about the two of you and your big day! Is it a formal, traditional affair or more of a laid back soiree? We thought we’d put together a short list of some newer venues that made an impression on us this year as well as a few of our faves.
Uppside Venue and Urban Garden
We had an amazing bride get married at Uppside this fall and we fell in love with it as she described her wedding day to us! Once we saw a few photos we knew this would be a great addition to the fabulous wedding venues Kansas City has to offer. Located downtown, Uppside offers city scenery as well as a quaint urban garden for intimate ceremonies.
We had the privilege of participating in a beautiful styled photo shoot this past summer at the Executive Hills Polo Club in North Kansas City. Conveniently located near the Kansas City Airport, this venue is a large mansion sitting on beautiful midwest acreage including a large pond and waterfront gazebo. The polo club is a great venue for your elegant and traditional wedding with an updated and subtle modern feeling in their reception hall.
We have always loved Berg Event Space for its rustic yet urban charm in the heart of the Crossroads district. Located down the road from the Power & Light District, The Berg offers a view of downtown KC from their tall windows with multiple ceremony options whether in their courtyard, in front of the freight elevator, or as seen below with the beautiful windows in the background.
Our love for Loose Mansion is much like our relationship with all of our favorite vendors, we enjoy the people behind the business and we love the service they provide to Kansas City brides. Loose Mansion is a beautiful historic mansion and carriage house built around 1907 located just north of the Country Club Plaza. This formal and classic venue offers on site catering and the Carriage House also serves as a bed and breakfast for you or your guests to stay in.
