From the Bride:

“Do you, Catherine, take Trenton, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer…and even when he leaves gold fish crackers all over the place… till death do you part?”

She totally said “I do”.

Even with a little bit of rain, May 18, 2018 was our perfect day.  We were married by one of our good friends, Ryan, who got ordained just for our wedding.  He kept the ceremony short, simple, and hilarious. Then, we were surrounded by family and friends, enjoyed breakfast for dinner, mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, yard games, and dancing.

How they Met:

Trenton and I met through his sister and my friend Kaitlin.  We were all on a team together during a 10 week challenge at Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping.  I had been on a chain of rough dates, and was getting frustrated when they offered to set us up.  I agreed, although it was an unenthusiastic agreement due to disappointing date history.  We ended up hitting it off and getting engaged a little over a year later.  Trent put the ring in a glass of champagne.  I failed to see the ring, disguised in a cloud of bubbles, and sipped away.  I eventually got scolded and told to pick my glass up and take a look.

The Wedding:

Originally, when we started wedding planning, we wanted to have a destination wedding.  Upon the realization that we might not be able to get the majority of our family and friends to the beach destination, we changed our game plan.  Our grandparents were unable to travel well due to medical and other reasons, and we really wanted them to be a part of our special day.  I discovered our wedding venue, Roca Ridge Events, through my hairdresser.  Her sister had been married at the same location a year earlier.  The property showcased a large rustic barn, a log cabin and house, all on a beautiful piece of land in the country.  After seeing the property, we knew Roca Ridge was where we wanted to be married, so we began planning around the venue.

Like most brides, I scoured Pinterest looking for ideas, and compiled a vision board.  I chose shades of dusty blue and peach for our colors and rented rustic decorations.  We had been to a friend’s wedding where they served breakfast for dinner, and it was amazing, so we decided to have a similar set up.  We served French toast sticks, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and fruit salad for dinner, and had a variety of mini cupcakes for dessert.
