Our Story:
Patrick and I were setup on a blind date here in Kansas City. Both being from Omaha, we realized how many mutual friends we had, even realizing we were at the same Prom and Homecoming dances together. It was right before our two-year anniversary on September 7th, 2017 that Patrick proposed. Calm, cool, and collected, Patrick got down on one knee at Liberty Memorial asking for my hand in marriage. He tricked me into thinking he was taking me to dinner, but little did I know he was proposing. We celebrated that evening with Patrick’s parents drinking champagne.
I am the only girl in my family, so my mother and I have been planning my wedding since the day I was born. The first item on our agenda, a dress! I knew I wanted something unique and different, but still having that wow factor. My niece, who was our flower girl, picked a dress from the catalogue sitting in the bridal suite. She asked if I would try it on and of course I said yes. Little did I know this would be the one! My Wtoo Watters gown with the lace overlay jacket checked all of the boxes and I felt so beautiful.
Planning the wedding was quite seamless and truly such a fun time. Patrick opted for a black classic tuxedo from Tip Top Tux. The morning of the wedding my bridesmaids and I relaxed at my parent’s home while getting our hair and makeup done. Our ceremony took place at Sacred Heart Catholic church and was the most special union, being surrounded by our loved ones. My Dad even cried walking me down the aisle and he is notorious for never crying! For florals, we kept it traditional with greenery, pops of pink, and white. The weather on our wedding day was cold, gloomy, and rainy but it made for some amazing photos! During our photos between the ceremony and reception, we almost got kicked out of a museum for taking pictures as another wedding was going on- oops! We still managed to get some shots
We utilized two rooms during our reception. Cocktail hour began with passed hors d’oeuvres then transitioned into a sit-down dinner in the other room. Our dinner area brought me to tears as my vision was captured perfectly; low lighting, candles galore, and a true romantic feel. We danced the night away with our friends and family and love looking back on photos and our wedding video. We celebrated our Honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii for 1 week and reminisced on our perfect weekend.
